Are you looking for lighting that gives a nice quiet atmosphere to your space? Or would you like to decorate your room with a piece of art made of wool? Vilt aan Zee makes sustainable handmade lamps and wall art of 100 % wool transformed into felt.

We make most lamps to order exactly to your liking. If you don't want to wait or you want to get inspired, you can also visit our webshop. In the webshop you will also find small unique artworks of felt to decorate your wall. Nice to give as a unique gift!

Our products are sound-absorbing and bring warmth into the home. They are produced locally and sustainably, just in The Hague!

Small and big

Vilt aan Zee offers different types of felted lamps sorted in a few collections – LOMOCO, XEI, ORGANYSK, CLOUD and FELT+PAPER . Every lamp is made by hand and on request, therefore the lamps vary in shape and color. The size of the lampshade is up to you, starting from 20 cm till 100 cm. If you would like to add something personal to your lamp, we can create a lamp with colors of your choice or various decorations.

Beside lamps we create unique wall panels. Together we think about the design of this panel. After choosing the feel, colors and size we will create your personal wall panel.

Good to know about the lamps

Shop and studio

In the shop/studio of Vilt aan Zee we can show you plenty of examples to get inspired. You can also see the making process here.

The shop is situated in the Boekhorststraat in the middle of the Makerskwartier in The Hague. A lively neigbourhood with a mix of creative shops and ateliers. You can park your car in the Q Park parking garage situated at the Grote markt. Or you can take the train. The shop is close to both the train stations, Den Haag Centraal and Den Haag Hollands Spoor.

Sustainable?

Yes

We use only natural materials such as sheep's wool, olive soap, water and starch-based glue.
The wool comes from European sheep that are treated in an animal-friendly way
No material is lost during the process. Zero-waste thus
In addition, we make the lamps to order. There is hardly any stock, so we never have to throw away a lamp that doesn't sell.
Wool is biodegradable. You could throw the lamp in the compost!
We make everything by hand in our workshop in The Hague!’
